"Lost" Actress Finds New Life in Hollywood

Fans of the Emmy-winning TV show "Lost" have been captivated by the mysterious, ship-wrecked scientist Danielle Rousseau and eagerly watch each week to see if more information is revealed about her story. The actress who plays her, Mira Furlan, has an equally intriguing background. A Croatian Jew who was a star of TV, film and theater in her native Yugoslavia, Furlan fled to the United States 15 years ago
when the increasing violence among ethnic groups endangered so many. Furlan, a classically trained actress, found a new niche in Hollywood by joining the cast of the science-fiction TV series "Babylon 5"as Ambassador Delenn. She has also appeared in dramatic productions in Los Angeles and released an album called "Songs From Movies That Have Never Been Made." Furlan recently spoke with Hillel Campus Report about her Jewish roots, her diverse career and the choices she's made in portraying Rousseau.

Night Stalker DVD - May 30th Street Date

Night Stalker - The Complete Series will street on May 30th. The show stars Stuart Townsend as "Carl Kolchak" and Gabrielle Union as "Perri Reed", and is a remake of Kolchak: The Night Stalker. That's the series which inspired Chris Carter to create The X-Files, so there's no surprise that there is a heavy X-Files influence in the creative team of the new Night Stalker, starting with creator Frank Spotnitz. The 2-DVD set will contain all 6 aired episodes of the ABC hour-long drama, plus 4 unaired episodes which complete the show's production run. X-Files writer Vince Gillian wrote one of the unaired episodes. X-Files director Rob Bowman directed the second aired episode, "Five People You Meet In Hell".
