LOST

Mira will be appearing in the new series LOST as "Danielle Rousseau".
Her first episode is "Solitary" and it will air either November 10th
or 17th. This role is very likely to be a reoccurring, or semi-regular
one.

The show airs Wednesday nights at 8pm on ABC (and CTV if you're in
Canada). It appears to be a ratings winner, so may very well stick
around for a few seasons.

The official site is here: http://abc.go.com/primetime/lost/index.html
and contains synopses of the four episodes that have aired so far, if
you want to get caught up.

Reprising Medea

Mira is going back to Brijuni to do 4 more performances of Medea, August 13th through 16th.

If you've regretted not seeing her play this role on an island paradise, in an Austro-Hungarian fort built in 1895, where they set the battlements alight at the end of the performance - now is your chance. Anyone wanting tips about how to get there or anything else, feel free to ask. I've been there, and if I can find a cheap enough flight I may just be going back again.

"Cao Inspektore" now available on DVD

In all honestly I think that this movie is utter trash, but there are so few of Mira's films currently available with English subtitles, I'm passing the word along.

After I'd first saw it a few years ago I wondered if it was really as homophobic and misogynistic as it appeared to be, or that possibly because of the language barrier I was missing something. Having now seen it with sub-titles. I can report that my original conclusion was correct.

The video quality of this DVD is not great, I don't think they cleaned up much of the film at all. My original tape was dark, and they appeared to have lightened it a bit, but the flaws that were on the tape are still present on the DVD. I'd say the quality was only marginally better than the tape, I was definitely underwhelmed.

Mira plays the Inspektore's girlfriend, and I swear that she's only there so that we know he's not *really* gay.

Two redeeming qualities about this film - Mira's in it and the scenery in places is great.

Today We Lost Richard Biggs

via JMS from the mod group.

Subject: Today We Lost Richard Biggs
I was awakened today with several phone calls from cast members and Doug to pass along the terrible news that this morning, Richard Biggs passed away.

We're still gathering information, so take none of this as firm word, but what seems to have happened, happened quickly. He woke up, got up out of bed...and went down. The paramedics who showed up suggested it was either an aneurysm or a massive stroke.

His family members have been informed, and all of the the cast have, as far as we can determine, also been informed.

This is a terrible loss for all of us. Richard was a consummate professional but more than that he was an honorable, stand-up guy. If he gave you his word on something, you never had to wonder about it afterward. He was always helpful and supportive of all the cast, even those who only came in for one episode, always with a ready smile and determined to do whatever it took to make the scene work. He was, quite simply, a terrific guy, and everyone here is just devastated at the news.

More word as this develops. We may try to have some kind of fund raiser to help give whatever assistance may be helpful for his kids.

We all miss him terribly.
